I have a slightly different take on this subject. My primary reason for using this is as a walking stick to help with my balance on uneven ground and then as a support for offhand shooting. At my age (82) and with 2 replacement knees and an ankle too, I feel much steadier with a walking stick. I have used the one I have for about 10 or 12 years and it works! I also practice shooting with it at the range so I am confident with my offhand shooting.
