The high plains of Colorado
I seriously looked into Llamas quite a few years ago. I knew they were great animals for the high country. I already had horses and I had a hard time justifying having a whole new set of tack. I decided to add a mule to my barn and have been happy with the decision. In the high country, horses and mules have to keep up momentum on steep slopes and want to pass you as you are trudging along. A nice slow pace from the llamas would be nice. Cool video.

Thanks for watching guys, Ike and I had a blast putting this video together..and the hunt wasn't bad either. Ike and I have hunted this country together several times now and it has been fun to start recounting memories.

As far as the llamas go, we put together an article in the December EHJ that covered why we chose them. Ike has a lot of experience with horses and it was cool to talk through the differences.

This is the podcast we recorded for Eastmans' Elevated covering the subject too.
