Ive got a friend of mine that just got the new 64st garmin gps.user manual doesn't even begin to cover how to work it and how to make the "go to" go directly to way point.Finnaly figured out how to make the go to work after several hours of trying things.Does anybody have a far more detailed instruction/user manual for the 64st?Ive been using garmins for years and lack of full instructions are a real problem.

If I wasn't very familiar with my garmin 62sc that I have had for a few years now,he would have had to take it back to cabelas as the cabelas guys had no clue either how to make it work proper."go to" waypoint is one of the most important items on it and should automatically revert to" strait to",,took some time but now it s working.I think it would be a good idea for garmin to give a far more detailed instruction manual or dvd with a lot of info upon spending 3+ bills for a new gps.anybody else running into issues on how to work it?

I bought a 450T a couple years ago, and it came with a CD. When I registered the GPS on-line, I chose to download the manual. I ended up with almost a whole ream of paper in several languages. Just what you want to take with you on a back-pack hunt. I almost prefer my old Vista...at least I could easily figure everything out. Try going to the Garmin website.

Just about any time I run into a tough time figuring out electronics (or anything else for that matter) I usually head to Youtube and see if anyone else has figured it out.
and I agree, for what you pay, you should get at least a CD/DVD to help figure it out.

Don't feel like your the only one....I just bought a new Casio watch. The users manual is over 100 pages long in just English! The print is so small it's almost impossible to read without a magnifying glass...at least for these old eyes. It took me several hours of frustration to get it setup.

I would bet the average person uses only about 25% of the capability of their electronics, be it gps, tv, computer, camera, etc. I only learn what I absolutely have to, and am probably closer to 10%

theres a variety of more options to work thru with the 64st versus my experience with my 62 sc,,,good thing I got my 62sc pretty well figured out.even though they look identical they have made changes in the programming that appears less user friendly than the 62sc.
