Hello, I was looking for some guidance regarding a guided hunt I am planning with family members in 2022 to the Thorofare Region in NW Wyoming. I like Unit 60 but in case there is any other unit you recommend I would appreciate it.

I have not decided on the dates and what would be the best. Looking for a Rifle Elk only or Elk/Mule Deer Combo hunt.

The dates are the following:

Elk Only: September 19-26 or September 28- October 5
Elk/Mule Deer Combo: October 7-14 or October 16-23
Regarding hunting experience and being able to harvest a decente Elk (300+) what would you recommend. Might be interested to add Mule Deer to take advantage of the trip as a plus.
Not sure if I should focus only on Elk only and hunt during the Rut (first Hunt) or Hunt the Last October hunt for migrating Elk and Deer. Or maybe any date in between.
I have also looked at the following outfitter in case anyone has hunted with them I would appreciate any comments or reviews:

- Hidden Creek Outfitter
- Butte Creek Outfitters
- Bliss Creek Outfitters
- Constant Quest Outfitters
- Ishawooa Outfitter
I will appreciate all your help and advise. Thank you.

I've hunted the Thorofare numerous times over the years. Several were guided, the rest DIY. I always shot bigger bulls the last week of the season, but had to deal with deep snows. You also have a good chance of hitting the deer migration later in the season. One year the deer migration was in full swing. We had deer walking right by camp all day long. I ended up shooting an exceptional buck that year. Bill Perry is a stand up guy and hunts close to the park. Good chance of getting migration bulls coming out of the park when the snow starts pushing them out. Lineberger runs Butte Creek. He was convicted of poaching in the early 90's and spent time in prison. I think it involved a sheep. He lost his camp and then got it back. Then a few years ago, he was convicted of illegal trapping. We ran into him one time while he was hunting my outfitter's drainage. It was fun watching my guide rip his azz. He'd be the last guy I'd hunt with...

Thanks for the info Triple BB . I have contacted Hidden Creek and they recommended either the first week or the last week.
