Buddy and me are looking to get into Colorado to do some Bear hunting. Just looking for some advise into some areas that would be good. We mainly want to use this trip to get us started into mountain hunting. We want to do rifle and are aren't afraid to put the miles on. Any advise would be great!! Thanks!

Call the Colorado hunt planner line (916) 445-0411 and they will tell you quickly which areas are your best bets. You can also look at the harvest report http://www.dfg.ca.gov/wildlife/hunting/biggame.html but be careful, some units south of Pueblo have high harvest and success rates because outfitters are involved in a much higher percentage of the hunts than is the case elsewhere in the state.

58-581 had a ton of bear this year. Feel free to come kill some! If you end up looking here feel free to PM. I will give you all the info I can.

Lot of bear all over the state. Find what they are eating and they will be there. Key is the time of the year. IMO gotta get after them when they are packing on the weight and traveling the country a lot. I see a lot in the archery month of Sept. 3rd year in a row I've seen them on an elk carcass.
