Backup Plan OTC Elk Unit 5

So, for the first time we are implementing our backup plan OTC elk in GMU 5 in Co during the second rifle season...does anyone have any area knowledge they are willing to share? I have the chips and been on the co and looked at the hunt atlas. We are looking to diy and hunt from our camper...any info would be great.

Looks like that area is west of the Beaver Creek fire burning on Independence Mountain and the Zirkle wilderness. Check on that fire throughout this month to see if it burns over to your area. Lots of elk move back and forth over the state line there. Know your boundary to the north.

With time drawing short, I was wondering if there were any last minute opinions on this GMU 5 and the second season rifle in general.
