I tried one, not this brand but similar, one time. As one who can find something good about almost any kind of food, this was the only thing I ever dumped out. if you insist on taking something you have to cook in a pan on a pack trip, I HIGHLY recommend trying it out at home before counting on it as a meal while in the back country, and when you do try it make sure you use the same stove/pan you would use in the field. Honestly, I can't remember the brand of the one I tried that time, but "raunchy" & "disgusting" are the best words I can come up with to describe it, and on top of that it was a real PITA trying to cook it.

On the whole, Backpacker's Pantry has been pretty good, but I haven't tried the one you mentioned. The only one I didn't like was one that was Thai food. I like Thai, but the freeze-dried version of Pad Thai was one I didn't finish. I went back to staples like stew.

I never did eat these on the mountain, I was to lazy in the morning to cook, so it was peanutbutter and granola bars along with some jerky.

I have never had thai food before but bought the pad thai to try, it had a "different taste that is for sure, but it was very filling and kept me fueled the longest. This is probably because of the difference in calories, this was higher then everything else.

I went without breakfast one morning after I realized I had the "cook in pan" Colorado Omelette in my pack. So it was only tortillas and not the breakfast burrito i had intended. If you do cook it up, let us know how it goes.
