Will be doing some back pack fishing this coming week in some high alpine lakes, the ones that arent froze still!! going to Iron bogg and fishpole lakes. i will be packing my spin rod with 4lb line and 2lb leader. plan to tie some jigs up, any recomendations on what colors? will be flipping a 1/16th jig. also will bring the mighty panther martins of course but wanted to catch some on jigs too. any insight on colors would be welcomed. im thinking black maribou with some black and purle charnell, short tails?

I could tell you but then I'd have ta keel ya.lol

I like to wrap lead around a hook (for casting with a spinner) then tie black and orange leeches. have had good luck with them in mtn lakes

I always take a selection of flies (both wet & dry) and a few clear plastic floating bubbles. You can cast them a long ways and they really work well if you don't take or have a fly rod.

I will absolutely do this. I prefer that with spin rod over a fly rod. cant wait till the evening rise just for this.

After years and years of fly fishing, I don't care much for it any more for trout but do enjoy bluegills and perch on it. LOL!

I always use a spoon or small Rapala. A Mepps is good, but tends to twist my line.
