I'm looking for a new place to do a several day backcountry hike this summer in Idaho. a group of us have gone into the Frank church a few time back into ship island and that is always a great time! But wanting to go somewhere new. Fishing opportunity has to be there. any ideas? 25 - 50 mile round trip hike. A trek where climbing gear is not required. I prefer hiking into a remote lake or section of river or creek to set up camp for a night, then on to the next the next day.... for fishing. Thanks for any ideas.

not 25-50 miles but had a lot of fun years ago , hiking into hidden lake on the rainbow trail. take off from big trinity lake.it is fairly easy hike .and good for two -three day trip. generally can expect no access until week after the fourth of july .decent cuthroat fishing in several different lakes but they are not big fish.8-12". it is getting more popular in recent years so you may or may not be alone back there.

Always liked to hike the queens river trail Ft#458 nice country some lakes in there to fish and the river. Trail takes off by Atlanta off of china basin road. Burned in there a few years back but should still be some nice scenery. You could go up the little queen to but I have never been up there so not familiar with it. Would love to see some pictures posted if you go that direction. Good luck.
