Anyone use the Asolo TPS? I was going to get the Lowa Ranger and then I tried on the Asolo and really liked it. Just wondering if anyone has had any problems with durability, too much stretch, waterproofing ect....

Thanks

I use the Asolo TPS. Love them. Up until recently I've primarily been a bird hunter, chasing prairie chickens and bobwhites around here, and spending two weeks every fall in Montana after the huns and sharpies, so my needs might be a little different than yours.

I settled on the Asolo TPS after having been through 4 or so pairs of Danners. The Goretex would fail after a season or less, always. So I moved on to the Asolo Fugitive GTX's, and while I loved the boot, the Goretex also failed similarly. I think the creek crossings and thick dewy grasses are a tough match for the Goretex. So I bit the bullet and bought the TPS, my logic being that I'd get a similar boot as the Fugitive's, but with the one piece smooth leather upper I'd be able to treat with Nikwax if the Goretex ever failed. This will be my fifth season in them and they are still going strong. The uppers are in good shape but I've treated them well. No stretch, and still pretty firm. The Fugitive GTX's shrank terribly and got stiffer it seemed.

Some downsides, they are heavy, and not very warm if you're stationary.

I have a friend with a pair of Lowa's that he's put more than a dozen hard years on. I'd buy the boot that fits you better, and treat them well.
