I recently bought a used mathews z7, 27" draw, 60-70 lb limbs.I have not bought arrows yet for this setup and have debating heavily between easton full metal jackets and the victory VAP. My goal is an accurate arrow out to 60 but with enough kinetic energy to take care of an elk. Also should I stick with 400s or 340's if I go with FMJS as this setup is king of inbetween the two

I used FMJ's and had no issues at all. I made the switch this year to Black Eagle to increase my FOC. You can get arrows from Lancaster Archery. They sell arrows by the singles, you could buy 3 each and see which one your bow likes better.

I prefer FMJs. My draw is 27.5 and I usually shoot it at 65lbs. I always shoot 400. They hit hard and are very accurate. Number one thing is make sure your bow is tuned.

I also shoot a Z7. Have been shooting VAP's 340gr. with quikspins for a few years now and they are great. Fast and they pack a punch. Great FOC and they fly tight. The only problem I have found with them is finding a quiver that will hold them without sliding when turned upside down.

I shoot a Z7 @ 70lbs. I am shooting Easton ACC/Pro hunters 350s @ 28.50" with Blazer vanes and Slicktrick125 grain broadheads. They shoot like bullets out of the Z7.

I shoot Easton Hexx. I was at a target shoot last week. Shooting off-hand, the first two guys with scoped rifles missed the ballon at 100yds. I was third and it was popped in 1 shot. :) They fly true. I usually have them capped with Grim Reaper Razor Cut BH.
I shoot a Hoyt Turbo Spyder at 72lb 29" draw.

You shpuld be just fine with the 400's at 27 inch draw. Those easton fmj hit like a ton of bricks. Ive never tried them but people swear by them. I dont think you can really go wrong with any of the top brand arrow makers. All personal preference.

Last year I switched from fmj's to vap's...shouldn't have done it. The vap's are much to fragile for my liking. Quicknick is correct, the fmjs do hit like a ton of bricks. The vap's are very accurate, compared to the standard diameter fmjs. Easton now makes the deep six fmj which is a small diameter arrow like the VAP, this should make the arrow much more wind drift friendly. Hope this helps.

tight spot quiver will hold them, I shoot the same arrow and love the VAP
