Antelope and cold fronts

We?ll be in Wyoming unit 22 oct 6 for a week, our first time out! If the extended forecast can be trusted it?s looking like a little bit of snow and 40s/20s. I?ve found very little info on the inter webs concerning the affect of cold fronts on pronghorn behavior. Anyone have any advice??

Their belly is a furnace, they need to keep putting wood in the fire. That said 40 isn't that cold for them though.

Haven't noticed much difference where I hunt. Where they were at 70 degrees, I see them at 20 degrees.

When lots of rain gets mixed in the weather changes watering habits often change. Traditional water holes may be abandoned when they are pressured. They will get their mandatory water from puddles, even from water in cattle tracks.

Thanks for the advice fellas. The forecast is looking gnarlier by the day, could be a lotta snow next week. Fingers crossed it ain’t too much

I love it. Im gonna be there with a deer tag next week. Hoping it puts them bucks on there feet a bit more. As far as goats go, dont worry about it. They aint going anywhere.

Snow makes them hard to spot . They may try to start herding up but should not yet. Weather may affect your access as roads could get very slick.
You may find the bigger bucks have bred the doe and now are off away from the herd. If you're finding small bucks with the doe groups look for the solitary ones bedded away. It's still fairly early so you should have good luck. Be prepared for very cold temps depending on where you're hunting. We have forecast for lows down into teens at night.
If it stays cold and snows roads will be ok till they melt.
