That's really a fun trip that I'll be doing again. Have to time it during the summertime lull on the island to get all the cheap upgrades and discounted all-inclusive pkg.

This was in the Dominican Republic. Them folks can cook a mean breakfast but past that I wasn't too fond of the food, their seasonings made everything taste burnt.

Offshore fishing is great. I love fishing the Florida keys for tarpon and billfish. Here is my 90 inch sailfish caught off the miami coast. Took about 45 minutes to get into the boat.

Edit: I'm the fat guy on the right.

Here's a roosterfish I caught last week north of CaboRoosterfish1.jpg We saw a marlin and some dorado, and caught some nice yellowtail and sierra mackerel. Can't wait to go back!

The fishing is a blast, congrats on your trips.

Our capt had a billfish tournament coming up and I got put on a tight timeframe to fight fish, ended up getting into 4 white marlin and it was quick release (cut leaders). Caught a bunch of dink mahi as well and that was it. It's a lot different that what I'm used to fishing off the TX coast, I won't run out far enough to get to blue water and opt to catch bull reds, kings & jacks on bass fishing tackle.

Thats's a really cool looking fish, congrats! Was it easy to land?
Pound for pound, I have yet to find a saltwater fish that is easy to land. For a modest size fish in shallow water, he pulled pretty hard. Maybe took 10 minutes to get him in. We also caught some 6-8# bonita that I would have sworn were 30# fish until we saw them.
