As some here may know, I'm on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Bowhunting Heritage Foundation Museum. On Sunday (1/28/18) we had a meeting at the museum. This is one of the new displays. The only deer Fred Bear killed in Wisconsin.

Brief and poor quality cell phone video I took of some of the museum.

Nice post!

My dad has a picture of him and Fred standing together in his museum. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Fred used to visit Az. once a year for bowhunting seminar and raffle.Never won
anything but will always remember summer nights listening to Fred speak.
Good Times.

When I was a youngster back in the early 50's, my Dad took me to an outdoor show in Los Angeles. We went to a Fred Bear movie on Polar Bear hunting in Alaska. He (or his guide) shot a seal, Fred Bear wrapped up in the skin and laid next to a seal hole and waited for a bear. The polar bear came running at what he thought was dinner and Fred Bear shot it with one of his recurves. He was at the show and did a question and answer and afterwards I got to meet him. All I can say is he had huge testicles to do what he did! I'll never forget that bear charging up wanting to eat him.

Wasn't it Fred Bear that shot the Polar bear then ended up hiding in an ice crevice to get away from the thing while it was trying to get after him? Or was that Saxton Pope?
