Hi,
I have 8 points for elk and I'm looking for a good hunt. I would not mind going with an outfitter. If anyone has had some good guided hunts in areas that require 8 +/- to get drawn I'd love to hear about them.
Thanks and Happy New Year!

What are your expectations? I have someone I would recommend. I drew it 2 years ago with 6 pts, that tells me you would have a fair shot. If you look at the weather on November 1st 2013, you'll see why my hunt was "sub par". No snow up high, and 60 degree days. However, with that said, I probably passed on 6 bulls this size, 5-10 bulls a day, which makes for a fun hunt. I know he's nothing too special but not bad for a "sub par" year. I have a buddy that hunted it on a "good year" and did great.

Let me know if you're interested. Unit 64:

Was that a guided hunt? I just moved to Wyoming last year and will be able to hunt elk in 2016, I'd be happy as could be with a bull like that. I've never shot as much as a spike.

Yeah it was... but you wouldn't have to. They offer just a trespass fee option. I think it was like 1,750. With that said, to no surprise, they knew the ranch inside and out and it's a BIG place. For a first time, going guided really is a pretty good option. But very do able on your own.

The Q in 16, Muddy Mtn Outfitters in 19, or Henry's Ranch in 122. A 350 plus bull is legit with any of those areas guided. Unless you go outfitted or have a helicopter, you're not shooting a bull in 122.
