Anyone out there have a go to 5.56 coyote load? I have a 7 twist so thinking heavier the better, 62, 68, 75, 77.

Haven't test the rifle enough yet to know if it loves a particular load.

Did test a 62gr FMJ american eagle bullet into about 2ft worth of magazines....and granted it was basically at point blank range, the bullet just blew up, penetrated about 8 inches, no bullet recovered really just powdered metal.

I read some guys use match, hpbt bullets for coyotes, others prefer fmj for hide preservation, which sounds good to me, but just wondering,
are fmj bullets suppose to remain solid? or do they blow up expand etc...?

thanks for all the help insight!

I've been happy with the 73gr ELD-M superformance ammo since I switched to it. Small sample size of 2 coyotes so far though. I used the 55gr V max for years with good results, but wanted a little more for the running away or quartering shots. From my 20" AR the load shows 2785fps. I should add that is 223 ammo, not 5.56.
