I am a fan of the 300s in either the WM or WSM. They will put a large animal down if the shot is placed correctly (bang flop). I frown on the 270 based on my experience. I placed three perfectly placed shots on a bull at less than 200 yards and you would have thought I was missing him on every shot. There was no reaction to the hits. Eventually he went down.
