Just saw this elk today feeding in a field. She seemed to be doing well despite having only 3 legs. Sorry, couldn't get the picture to rotate.

Dad shot a cow several years ago missing a right front just below the knee. Was a long long injury, all heeled up and the shoulder was a 1/4 the size as the other. We called the DOW about it, he told us not to even worry they had a cow missing both front legs and she survived 3 years. Was even still throwing calves. He said she would lay on her chest and scoot around feeding then if she got spooked would basically run on her rear legs. I used to have pics of the 2 legged cow and he had video at one point but this was 25 years ago.
