Lots of practice shooting, miles a day jogging, prolonged elliptical workouts and a damned good guide got me 700 yards away from this trophy. A half mile run and accomplished shooting skills put a 160gr accubond right where it needed to be landing with over 1700 ft/lbs of energy and penetration that produced large exit wounds The bullet performance was impeccable and like Bob Hagel once said “ I was glad to be using that rifle that day. Few would exhibit that kind of performance at that range.” He of course was referring to his 7mm mashburn mag using 175gr Nosler handloads on a trophy Alaska moose. I was using an incredibly accurate nosler 48 mountain rifle in 28 nosler with 160 accubond handloads.
