Looks like fun times.

I miss going down to a lake with my bow and arrows and taking out a bunch of carp when they are spawning. I ruined more cedar shaft arrows doing that than anything else.

The biggest problem I have right now is that the water is so high the fish are spread out big time.

I love getting out of the boat and wading through open flooded grass but I am not getting out of the boat to wade around that brush.....I bet you I seen 10 snakes on Saturday, all hanging in the brush 1 foot above the water.....

Wife and I got 50+ fish on Saturday and only about 6 on Sunday (water cooled back down and shut things down).

This weekend should be good but that water certainly isnt coming back down by then...

I tried to eat them 1 time in my life. That is a mistake that will never happen again to me. lol

They are an invasive species so they become Turtle Food and fertilizer.

I used to give them to a guy with a hog farm. His hogs went wild over those things. I would pull up to the fence and those hogs would come a running!

Back in my Jr High and High school days I would head down to a very large thrift store and buy all of the old mop handles that they had that had two prongs coming off of the wooden handle. I would then cut the mop head off and sharpen the metal to a point and then head down to the Provo River on my bike along with a bunch of my friends.

We then would spend the next couple of hours walking up and down the river looking for suckers to stab and throw up onto the south side bank where the farmer would come along and get them to add to his compose pile.

The only problem was that those suckers were the June Sucker that is only native to Utah Lake. I have no idea of how many we killed in those years but it was a bunch. Then in the 90's that sucker was placed on the endangered species list and millions have been spent on bringing them back.

Luckily for me humanity will be gone from the planet before common carp and gar.

When I tell you there are millions in the lake I fish, I would potentially be understating it by a long-shot. lol

I really need the water levels to drop about 10 feet and I would really hurt them.
Last time they spawned when the lake was super low I literally shot until my fingers were bleeding.....the next day I went back with band-aids on my fingers and extras in my pocket and did it again. I should have taken the following 3 days off work but I didn't because my fingers hurt too bad from drawing the bow so much. If I would do it over again I would have gotten a bottle of aspirin and ponied up.
