Just finished drinking my morning coffee on my deck and watching our local group of deer (usually 30 to 40) move to their daily bedding area. They feed all night near my place and usually stop for a drink at my pond before bedding down.

This year there seem to be fewer fawns than I normally see. This morning I saw 7 fawns for about 30 does and yearlings. I know that fawn births and survival are very cyclic. A lot depends on feed conditions. We don't have a lot of depredation here, a few lions and road kills.

Just wondering what anyone else is seeing.
