I had a good year in the high country this season. Saw 15 bucks during archery and rifle season. Helped a friend fill his tag with a nice 3x2, my brother and I took his son on a backpack trip and he scored on a great first buck.I shot a meat buck on some private property not too far from the house in the low country. I never saw the kind of buck I was looking for in the high country, I passed on a nice 4x3 the next to last weekend thinking I had a few more days to hunt and a little bit of snow coming. I was able to get a few pics of the 4x3 in the spot i found him. That little bit of snow ended up being 2 feet! The deer started the migration and my season was done.

I also hunt the high country up by Gold Lake Rd. Saw 4 nice bucks just couldn't get the bucks to turn so I could get a shot with my bow.

By the time I filled my first tag and headed to D5 they had already left the high country and were in the thick stuff. I did find a few nice places to check out next year though.

Nice bucks! You guys did great this year! We had a tough hunt in D5. I hunt with two other guys and we only saw one spike. I did have a bear jump over the log I was sitting on six feet away....I wonder if he is still running? Funny! Congrats to you guys on a great hunt!
