1903 Springfield Action

Anybody have, or know where I can find, a 1903 Springfield action that i can use as a donor for a nostalgic custom rifle build project?

I need a safe action, meaning either double heat treated or nickel steel version. High numbered Springfield Armory, Rock Island Arsenal or Remington version preferred.

The action I have has a scope hole drilled in the locking lug area and deemed 'unsafe'. This action already has a reworked bolt i would like to reuse. I am having a new barrel made, so it will be head spaced accordingly.

If anybody has any leads, please let me know. Would like a reasonable price. Could be a 'junk' gun as long as the action is good and meets the previous mentioned criteria.

Thanks

Are you still looking for an A3-03 action??? Might have one I would part with.

Remember one thing, 03-A3 and 03 are not exactly the same. The bolt pattern in the floorplates are interchangeable. Lots of people change them out as the 03-A3 floorplate is stamped steel and pretty ugly.

You mention you might want to use the reworked bolt out of the 03, better check with tour smith as I'm not sure 03 & 03 A3 bolts interchange.

I looked for a year or so for an 03 action to use on a project, finally found one. I built a .220 Ackley Improved Swift.
