Digging through my collection the other day i came across my Springfield 1903 30-06. Just wandering if anyone else has one on here built into a custom as well. Maybe a pic. Thinking about doing some more customization to mine

Haven't done one for years! My Dad and I "sportorized" an '03 A3 in the early 60's. Timney adjustable trigger, bedded barrell, custom stock. It was very nice but very heavy. Sorry no pics of it as it was sold years ago!

I had one several years ago that I wish I had back! Mine was a very nicely done sporter in .308 Norma, I got it for a song because of the "hard to find ammo" .

I have 3. One is my original sporterized 03 that My Grandfather got for me from the NRA about 1950. Completely sporterized with a fiddleback maple stock, Timney trigger and a 6x Leupold. Shot lots of deer and elk with it. I also have my Dad's spoterized 03. I also have a custom .220 Ackley Swift built on an 03 action. Springfields (both 03 & 03A3) are great actions. Not much demand as todays commercial actions are just as good (or better) and don't need much work to use.

I almost forgot...I also have an 03A3 that is as issued that I use for our club's monthly military rifle shoot. Only unaltered military rifles can be used. I win my share of matches with it.

My father built this one in the 50's, he passed away twenty years ago and I have had it since. Just had it out last week shooting (and hitting BTW) up to 300 yards. Its always special when I am carring this rifle in the field. In fact I made the longest shot on a Mulie with this rifle back in '95 in Utah. I had it as a .243 then and dropped a Mulie at 265 yards in Southern Utah. Great rifle, I've been thinking of either converting this one to .270 or building a new one in .270.
