062-068 Cow hunt

Well I am giving the bear tag priority.iIF we get lucky and get one opening week I was thinking of sneaking over and trying to fill the early cow tag.
Never having hunted in this zone what would be the minimum time needed to see a few animals?I never dreamed on the bear tag and am treating it like a once in a lifetime tag , a Montana trip,then the bull tag that arrived last month isn't leaving much time.

,I know there have been a lot of big Bulls coming out of those area in the last few years. I've herd Tuscarora is a good area to hunt. I have a good friend that lives in Battle Mountain and I'll pick his brain and get some better info for you.

From what I know its a big area and the elk are pretty scattered. I think it could take some time to narrow it down.

I hunted there last year. The elk were HIGH. Had to hike in after em. I had the mid season tag.

What is the start date for you hunt ? My son has a early bull tag starting the oct. 22. If your hunt falls after that I can share info once we get back.
