I am shooting the CVA wolf northwest .50 Cal 420 grain with 75 grains of FFG. hitting the pie plate at 200 with open sights.

I started using No excuses this year granted this is my second year muzzleloader hunting and I shoot a .50 cal but I was really impressed with the performance after I found the right load for them. Last year I used the powerbelts and liked them a lot. They do make .54 Cal bullets as well.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll be up there scouting throughout the month of November to see how the OTC cow tag pushes them around. Hoping to find something for our December hunt.

Does anyone have any experience with what the elk are usually doing around Carey, ID in December? Just looking for any general info, do they stick around or move out when the snow flies?

There are several recipes on the inter web, I used a couple bags of jolly ranchers and corn syrup. Just heat up until the jolly ranchers melt completely. I used an old pot and just chained it to a tree.

First year putting in for Idaho and I wasn't expecting to draw this but it was close to home so I put in anyways. Really excited and cant wait to get out and start scouting. What's the quality like on the unit? Anyone have any pics or any experience on that hunt. Thanks
