    Montana elk up high?

    Spent the last 3 days putting miles on in area 362 and have yet to see any elk on the hoof. I'm thinking they r way up in the snow. Next few days will be putting the miles on to go high. First attempt to hunt elk is really an eye opener.

    Im looking at trying my first DIY hunt for elk, and am looking at area 313. I see plenty of national forest land there for access. Im just trying to get any info/help about the area.     montana 313

    This year a few friends are going to attempt a public hunt in zone 313 hopefully. Looking at maps it looks like a decent zone for area to hunt. Has anyone attempted there at all? will it be a bust? or is there hope?
