Buck I killed with my blackpowder in 2014. Got him in his bedding area sneaking in on him the second morning I got to hunt. I had pics of him on the camera and had a pretty good idea of where he was coming from to the feed. I shot him at 140yds kneeling as the bucks started to stand up in the bedding area. I think a coyote or something was moving through the grass with them, the wind was in my favor and they never looked my direction. This was my first blackpowder buck, it felt strange watching him run away after the shot. I was reaching for a non-existent bolt trying to chamber another round, I'm to used to my centerfire bolt guns! He only went 150yds after the shot, but went out of sight so I left and came back an hour later. I hit him at the last rib and part of the 50 cal slug exited in front of the opposite shoulder. He is 19 6/8" inside spread, net scores 167" and gross scores 181". Great deer. Now I guess I'm guiding the wife the rest of the fall, no more buck tag at home and no western tags this year.
