sorry but i beg to differ, i had threads ripping out of my 189 dollar pants 4 days into my hunt, they were not water proof, the zipper broke on them. ive had jeans last longer through tougher hunting. in some things u deff get what u pay for but thats not true with all things.

I just got some attack pants last year for Valentines day, they're super comfy, but definitely not great in the brush if it's wet. I also noticed that the blackberry vines really fray the bottoms, but it doesn't seem to effect them to bad yet. (great dry weather, early season pants) All that said, I still wear 10 year old dry plus pants and Wal-mart cotton (weather depending), because I can't pull the trigger on the high end pants if I want to go hunting! (maybe Christmas this year!) I always carry a super light pr. of rain pants and waterproof jacket though! I definitely wear wool or synthetic long johns, there's been times I would have been in big trouble with cotton!

Absolutely. And I wouldn't mind seeing an update to Guy's "6 Critical Layers" gear review. Lot has changed since that came out.
that would be great, and no sportsmans wouldnt take them back because the zipper was broke and threads around the "knee pad" area were popping out. but i did sell them on craigs and got enough to buy two pairs of pants i like. everyone has a prefrance but to me its not justified when not needed. i hunt hard when i hunt, im on my knees, im crawling, climbing rocks and to be honest, i have some kings camo thats has held up far better for far longer, granted the higher end ones were more comfortable they didnt make me a better hunter.
Next time call the company, many times they will replace them.

Im looking for some I can use early to mid season that dont cost an arm and a leg. Something that would replace blue jeans but not soak up water and be good to layer under.

I think it would be great! Would it be possible for two different comparisons? Mid price range $75-$125, and then an upper price range for the higher end. I have been searching for pants recently and notice a lot are higher than the $100 that MM through out for a price. Saying that, I am interested in the higher end because I would like to know why they cost so much and if they are really worth extra money?
Based on my experience, yes they are worth it. I can see what we can do, this might be a good youtube project.

I dont doubt that the high end pants are worth the money, but also there are alot of us that cant afford to spend over $50-100 on them. Also I think all the high end ones would be very good quality and it would more come down to fit and personal preference (pockets, ect) with selecting any of them.
