I've been "trying" to catch a lion since the snow has been around. I've cut several tracks but seem to be 2 or more days behind the big cats. Thought I'd start up this thread in hopes of giving me some good luck and entertaining a few of you fellas with my trials and tribulations. Hopefully I have some cat pics for you guys soon but tracks is all I have to show.

Sure are some pretty footprints! Know we need the kill photos! Good luck. Do you use dogs? If so have you ran any yet?

I do use dogs, walked the first track out with the dogs for miles and ended up to close to the Cali line and pulled off. Seems all these cats moved through this area within a day of each other, I've cut several lion and bobcat tracks in this "top secret" spot. Now just to catch the buggers!

Just curious, do you know a man by the name of Cal Bryant? Runs hounds somewhere out in Nevada, has had some really awesome pictures of lion on the big game houndman forum.

That's a great pic! My week off is over so back to weekend hunting. Thought for sure I'd catch something moving through with all the sign but nothing. Snow is getting crappy but still around so I'll be at it every chance I get. This was the first chance I've really just focused on lions this season since bear is still open but NOTHING is moving anymore since we got so cold. I will have some pics soon of more than just tracks. You get what you put in so I'm putting 110%!!!

Just an update, its spring in my neck of the woods! Dry and dusty everywhere, 60 degrees today. I've been trying but with the snow extinct and frozen ground at night and dry conditions during the days it has been frustrating. I'm hoping to see some snow in the forecast sometime soon!

Weve had a lion hit some sets of ours! Now we have a trail camera on a set. From tracks looks like it is a big tom. You know you could just bring your dogs on out and I'd do some shooting for you! ;) lol
