We went out deep dropping for swordfish last weekend in 1500-1800ft of water. We didn't catch any Swords but caught this deep water shark and a 300lb Bigeye Thresher shark(No pic of this one he was wanting to be cut off!!). No telling what weird critter you might bring up from those depths!!

ok you river fishermen, I ended up just getting a new pair of neo waders form cabalas 5mm, I have wading boots in felt. my question.... I fish on rivers full of river rocks and lava rocks, these things are so slimy and the felt soles are the only ones ive found that give me the grip I need to feel safe... with tall the new stuff out there is there something else I should look at? im not worried about transporting things via felt cuz I don't jump to other water systems with same boots. any good boots I should be looking at? I have frog togs with felt right now and I like them.

Ivory,
Try these http://www.simmsfishing.com/shop/footwear/g3-guide-boot-felt.html or any felt bottom boot and add cleats or alumitreads for extra traction on slippery rocks. You can also get these with the rivertread sole. One suggestion about the cleats or alumitreads, if you use a drift boat at all make sure to not wear studs, cleats, or treads. These are not made for inside of a drift boat, only for wading.

If it were me I would buy a pair of Simms reasonably priced felt boots with the studs already installed, that is, if I weren't going to be in and out of a boat at all. You will not slip with these. If you are still unstable then you need to get a wading staff. I use only felt and have rarely had any problems. I personally am afraid to try the rivertread sole just because I trust felt.
