Wyoming Resident Guide

As I read the regs, there is no requirement to be a resident guide that can "guide" nonresident hunters in WY wilderness areas other than to apply for that status, have a valid hunting license, be a resident and not receive compensation.

Has anyone done this with nonresident hunting partners? Is it really this simple or am I missing something?

I ask because I drew deer 78-1 this season and would like to hunt the wilderness areas but can't without a resident guide. I am planning on going a few days early to scout.

Here are the regs: http://legisweb.state.wy.us/statutes/titles/Title23/T23CH2AR4.htm

Basically, there's a clause in the statute where a resident can be granted a "temporary" guide license for one continuous two-week period, once a year, in a particular area where the resident also has a license for the same area. It's pretty easy for a resident to get the guide license. When I've done this in the past, I just arranged to get the temporary guide permit from the local game warden in the area.
