Wyoming elk tag filled

After trying three times, I finally had the opportunity to draw my bow on an elk. Made a perfect double lung shot at 30 yds on a small 6x6 and he didn’t go but 40 yds before expiring. Couldn’t be more thrilled! Wasn’t too thrilled with a bear coming in while quartering it out though! My hunting partner Matt also tagged out as did one other hunter in camp!

You did well. Four percent is the success rate for archery elk IIRC.
I came close Saturday... several times, but no cigar. Still time.

I had a collection of these, and eventually had a local silversmith make a ring for my wife. She is well pleased with it and wears it every day.

I don't know how I missed this one, congrats on a nice bull.

There is always a question on what to do with the ivories. I have a jar full of them and have only used a couple to make some jewelry for a old girlfriend. When my brother in law passed away my sister found his and asked me what they were worth and what to do with them. On the open market they are around $15 a pair the last time that I looked.
