wyoming elk hunting regulation info

im having trouble understanding the archery section of the regs. if anyone can help me it would b greatly appreciated. I was told that if I draw a limited quota elk rifle tag, that I could use this tag and archery hunt the same unit in the early archery season and if I didn't harvest a elk, that I could come back later in rifle season and hunt with the same tag. Is this true because the regulations really aren't specific on this topic?

I know there are some units that you can do that in but Im not sure where to find it in the regs.

You will be able to hunt archery, and if unsuccessful come back for rifle, just need to buy a archery license. Most archery seasons start on Sept 1st, unless there is a type 9 archery only type, then you could use your type 1 tag for archery starting on Sept 15th.

All you need to do is buy the $35 archery permit to also hunt that September earlier season during the rut with your bow.

I have been looking at Unit 38 nonType9- for archery and on the graph on top of 7-19 it is not listed for an archery season date. I am assuming with a Type 9 tag option for the unit it opens Sept 15 with the archery permit or is this unit different?

I called WY Game and Fish yesterday. Unit 38 is one of about 6 units in the state that you can't use the Type 1 tag to archery hunt at all. Only Type 9 tags for archery in 38. You can use the bow during the regular season

I was wondering about that; So that would be one unit worthy of the type9 tag.Also must be why it takes longer to draw the type9 than the type 1 in that unit.
