Good article. Dogs and ice is a scary thing. I hate hunting without my dog, but it's just not worth it, in those conditions.
I'll hunt my dog in ice, when I'm hunting marshes that are shallow, and there's no deep water present, but when there's ice and current or deep water, just say no.

Another great article. I would bet there are a lot of dogs out there that have died due to hypothermia.

Dovetailing off of Part II I've added another one... frostbite! My lab frostbit his scrotum over Christmas hunting pheasants in single digit temps and snow. I'm guessing that the combination of the rough cover and cold temps caused this to happen. No infection and he is healed up already but yet another Extreme Conditions danger.
