Cabelas ISQ tent. Usually take about 4 pods for guys and or gear. Cots,,sleeping bags, cot pads, wood stove.
A full camp kitchen, two coleman stoves, small BBQ, wash tubs, 5 gal kettle for hot water, zodi shower, pantry box, chairs, tarps for cover iver the kitchen, coolers, one with dry ice one with wet ice.
Archery range, chainsaw,

when I walk back quite a ways I just take the essentials, 1p tent, lightweight sleeping bag, food, some extra clothes. When I can drive my truck to my camping spot, its mountain luxury! Wall tent, stove, blow up mattress, shower, coolers, the whole 9! However, hunting isn't nearly as serious when I drive my truck and meet my friends!

I cant even come close to where I Elk hunt so I try to keep it as light as possible. The older I get the lighter I try to pack. Including bow I used to pack in about 70lbs. Last year my pack for seven days with bow/arrows was down to 58.5 lbs. I have made a few changes for this year to lighten it up a little more.

I have a northface, (Which was give to me) and a Kelty I believe, I always sleep cold so, I bought a -15 mountain hardware from sierratradingpost.com and have yet to try it. If you sign up for there email thing you get an extra 30% off. The northface and kelty pack into an incredibly small stuff sack which is really nice. the new -15 bag is slightly larger but I also order the long version. Let me know what you think

When backpacking in for multiple days (10), I use the lightest, most compressible items I can. Every ounce I save on equipment allows me to pack more food to sustain my entire hunt. The heaviest items we pack on long hunts is generally food. This is what I use:

Big Agnes SL1 Tent; BA zero degree down bag (Pomer Hoit); Integral Designs Siltarp

My wilderness "kitchen"; Snow Peak Giga titanium stove; Snow Peak titanium cook set (stove and fuel fit inside

is that a tarp over your tent? or just a sitting area?
Actually both. Provides some UV protection for the tent, while allowing me to store my hunting gear and cook food in late summer thunderstorms that seem to follow me on hunts.

Lots of good information and ideas here, thanks guys!

I've considered not bringing a tent and instead just something to shield me from the rain, but I haven't done that yet. Despite the weight of a tent(its not a heavy tent) and rareness of early season snow, the tent is something I feel I should have. Anyone backpack without a tent?

In David Long's book on hunting trophy mule deer, he gave a complete list of his back country gear.
That is what I went off of for compiling my gear, and its a good read!!

Integral Designs Siltarp2.....14 oz.
What are the dimensions? That's pretty light I use a 6x8 Equinox Egret Tarp at 16oz for a lean too for my gear and bow since I use a one man tent. I actually like the tarp to sit under, cook , and eat as well.

Mines probably not as light as others, but I don't take many clothes compared to most. I'll be adding a Hilleberg Nallo GT thats 6+ for hunts in November-December

Older Big Agnes 2 person tent(Can't remember the Model)--4 lbs 8 oz add 13 oz for vestibule
North Face Cats Meow 20 degree bag-- 2 lbs 12 oz
Big Agnes Dual Core 0 degree-- 1 lb 14 oz
Thermarest Down Pillow-- 5 oz
Jet Boil Flash Stove-- 15oz
Snow Peak Titanium Cup-- 3 oz
Snow Peak Titanium Spork-- .5 oz
