I just read in our local paper that the Dolores River basin has 146% of normal snow pack. The forecast is that all the local reservoirs will be full this year and have runoff. Fishing should be great and if we have some summer monsoons the high country should be fantastic. Got a new boat and looking forward to putting some hours on it and smoking some trout and kokanees.

That sounds great. How long has it been since your reservoirs have been full? How have the wildlife faired with that much snow?

We had a good year in 2019, but it was one out of the last 6 or 7. Lots of deer & elk down here from up high. I have not seen any large loss, but one thing I have seen is more lions. I am sure they are not going hungry!

A good buddy of mine does snow removal in Durango and surrounding area yea he sure has been busy!! Here in south central Colorado I have no snow in my yard. It is crazy every storm has missed us.

The last big winter for that area was in 2019 this winter in the sw might surpass 2019…. Here is a pic from 2019 of the road above Silverton. Things need to settle but I hope to be in that same area in mid to late March and wondering if there is this much snow this year.

Lots of snow all over for sure! It's going to be interesting this year to see what the ripple effects are of this from winter kill to filling up reservoirs.
