Just curious how long these events normally last, time-wise? I'm still hobbling around in a leg brace, and my attention span is usually limited to "how close am I to my next Ibuprofen feeding?"

Thanks,

Ray

As long or as short as you want it to be.
If you put all your tickets in on stuff, and want to see all the items auctioned off.......then I'd say 3 hours normally.

As long as you are just taking Ibuprofen I'd say just take a dose of them with you to the banquet as a just in case.

The last one that I went to started around 5pm and went to 11pm. But that was a lot of socializing with others.

Anything that you can do to please the wife earns you man points.

Not to mention that these banquets are a lot of fun watching people spend money. Just remember that when the auction starts to sit on your hands or place them into your pockets to see how much money you have.

I was age 17 when I graduated from high school. I joined the military to see the World. I was sent from northern Idaho to southern Idaho... At first, I wasn't convinced we were still in Idaho, but I learned to like that area a lot. Spent four years at Mt. Home AFB.

yeah. first impressions of mtn home is pretty bleak but there is actually a great many outdoor opportunities within an hour in any direction.

the town itself never grows or changes which is both a blessing and a curse.

population pretty much stays the same as whenever one gal gets knocked up two guys flee town.

Sorry Slugz for the late response as I thought I'd get notifications for replies but just happened to check it as I've posted invites on several sites. We probably could use some extra help. We start setting up at 8 am at the Douglas County Events center. Enter in the back of the building. I assume your son is at least High School age as that's probably as young as we'd be able to accommodate. Usually takes about 4-5 hours then we return probably around 3 pm as the doors open at 4. If he does come early, be sure to ask what time to be back if he's wanting to help out at the banquet as I'm not positive on that time. Ask for Doug or Clint. Clint is our chairman and just tell us you'd like to help out. Normally all the volunteers need to have a RMEF Castle Rock Shirt (all volunteers order and buy them ahead of time) but we'd probably be able to work around that.

The banquet would likely be done around 9 pm so not too late as quite a few bring kids at our banquet. Thanks for offering your son's assistance.
You can PM me if you like for my phone number ....hope I get a notification! Doug

RMEF just had a banquet in the Wheeling, WV area about 2 weeks ago. It was a lot of fun and much needed funds were raised.
Last about 3 hours. I'm already planning on attending next year!

Just to test my ability to get-out-of-the house, and make sure i could go to the banquet, I complied with my doctor's orders to get outside and do as much PT as possible. Drove one-hour down to Ft. Carson/Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex, zeroed in a new scope, and shot for a few hours after that. My friend Jim, was in charge of PT today, although he volunteered to walk the targets out to 200 yards. After using the Mark 1 eyeball to boresight at 100 yards, eight shots later it was zeroed on paper at 200 yards. The steel targets start at 300 yards, and on the particular range we were on today, there is steel out to 500 yards. Felt great to go shoot again, and I think the temperature got to at least 87 degrees where we were at. A good day. Normal quantities of Ibuprofen...fullsizeoutput_12fa.jpgfullsizeoutput_12fd.jpgfullsizeoutput_12fb.jpg
