Hey there!

My name is Ali, I'm from Colorado and am an avid hunter (bird, deer, pronghorn, elk, etc). Though I always have successful hunts with all other animals, I've yet to have a successful year elk hunting! I elk hunt GMU 18 with my dad, and we've gone all over the unit but with next to no success year after year. Looking for some tips and suggestions on the unit!

Welcome to the forum.

To learn a unit you need to get to know it and I mean all of it. Some might be good for elk and some might be bad, you may be hunting the bad part. Get out next summer or even before it snows with a pair of binoculars and see if you can find the elk and see where they are at now. Learn how they move around the unit along with moving into or out of it.

A lot of people think that a elk is so big that it can't hide but I have been chasing them for close to 40 years and they still amaze me.
