Memorial Day Thanks

Saw the quote at the bottom in the WSJ this morning, referring to the Memorial Day weekend just ahead.

A man who will not fight for anything is not a man. Today, we are having to fight for things we used to take for granted. But the biggest thanks goes to those willing to put their lives at risk to protect us and the great freedoms that God has blessed us with. So glad we have Memorial Day and Veterans Day.

Highest thanks to those who gave their lives to defend us and maintain our freedom. Thanks to everyone who has or does serve in the military, as well as those who serve as police or firefighters.

Jesus said, "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends." - John 15:13 I would add that no one is worthy of greater honor and remembrance.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth a war, is much worse...A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. As long as justice and injustice have not terminated their ever-renewing fight for ascendancy in the affairs of mankind, human beings must be willing, when need is, to do battle for the one against the other. - John Stuart Mill

We all should honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice as well as those who have served, we ALL should count our blessings for what we have in this country even though things are not perfect we are very lucky for the opportunities we have !! Bless everyone this weekend !

Being a disabled veteran, I want to thank all my fellow veterans for their service to our country and protecting the freedoms we all enjoy. I know the sacrifices that were made so we can continue to live the life we choose. The Stars & Stripes fly 24/7 at my place and will be lowered to half staff on Memorial Day.

Thanks to all my Brothers & Sisters.

the most inspiring song ever, one comment I read on you tube said.... Immigration Test: If you get goosebumps from this song, you're in.
if anyone can hear this song and not tear up, you are in the wrong country. every 4th of July while watching the fireworks a local radio station sinks music to the show, most of the songs that are played are garbage, but when this one plays, you can feel something that settles in over the thousands upon thousands of people that spread out across the snake river, when this song plays not a soul can deny how lucky and blessed we are as Americans. I hope with all I have in me that the track this country is on right now comes to a dead end and people open their eyes and hearts to what we have here.

To the men of Extortion 17 you will be remembered this weekend and I will raise my glass to you often. To my other brothers and sisters who have fallen in defense of this great nation you are not forgotten.

Respect to all of our veterans. Thank you.

My father and grandfather both served and were very proud of doing so. They have been gone for a lot of years, and never had a chance to meet my son's. Today of all days my thoughts turn to them, how much they would love these boys, and whether or not they would be proud of me. Always an emotional time.

Rest easy soldiers.
