Looking for Hitch hoist/gambrels

Can anyone share the good, the bad, and the ugly of market hoist/gambrels for vehicle hitch?

I have one from Cabelas that I have used for 3 or 4 years. Woks pretty good. One person can get it up & working. Has a weight limit of around 700# if I remember right. I have my own gambrel (or singletree as I call it). I use mine for other things too, like hoisting my generator into my truck when I go dry camping. Good investment IMHO.

I built one myself, it's like my hotrods...way overbuilt. But I can lift a big Elk easily, I have a warne 2,000LB. winch on it, instead of a manual boat winch. Works wonderfully, it's built from heavy wall tubing and pivots in the center after pulling a pin, so you can swing it in the box and load it.

That swivel feature is a great idea. I'm going to build one this summer and you can be sure it will swivel. Thanks for that..........
