I'm a happy father of 4 boys who moved from western Missouri 3 years ago. Been doing the youth encouragement hunts last 2 years and brought home 5 cows. Last year Oldest son and I hunted valle vidal first archery and despite hiring a highly recommended guide came up empty handed on our OIL. My next 2 sons have drawn muzzy for unit 36 this year. Have some ideas where to hunt based on hiking camping trips in the area but would very open to advice. We do have horses. We enjoy quail hunting out here and going back for white tail season to the farms we still own in southwest MO.

Hello! Where about in eastern NM, if you don't mind me asking? I live in Lubbock, fiance in Clayton, so I spend a lot of time around your parts.

Welcome to the forum! We drew 36 muzzy in NM this year as well, so we'll see you there! Completely new area for us, so I have no idea what to expect on this hunt.

I spent quite a bit of time out there shooting dove and quail. I finished up my BS at University of the Southwest, so I know right where you are from. My cousin's husband is also one of the Rodeo coaches for NMJC. Welcome to the forum and good luck on your coming hunts.
