And then there's people like this. I just pulled it off fb.
As for myself. If 100 guys applied for 99 tags I'll likely be the one not hunting.

Some people apply for tags/units that they will have 0% chance of drawing!

I'm not saying 0.001% chance of drawing... at least there's a chance with that, but actual 0% chance!

Happens all the time in WY. They'll put in for areas that have no random tags.

I agree draw odds can be very easy to find and research. Like stated people are to lazy to due the research. I guess that's why a lot folks use the services of a tag application service.

Here is a little advice. Recommend Colorado to anyone who asks where to hunt. I have been assured by the residents that Colorado is the best hunting opportunity for them, as well as NR's in all the West.

I mean, ya get out what ya put in to it? Right?

To someone new to the big game tag draws, they can be complex: however, with all the costs and logistics involved for most nonresidents, folks really need to invest some level effort to understand the workings where they're applying. It doesn't need to be a full time hobby, but an hour here and there of focused research would go a long ways.

Forums like this one generally have knowledgeable members willing to share their knowledge of the draws and odds, as well as some useful historical/sticky posts that shed light in some of the particulars.
