Bone, you can buy the license now, getting the customer id as you go thru the purchase process, then set the "start date" of the license to feb 12. Later today you should be able to go back in and "apply" for the point. The system should ask for your license number when you do that. You could also go in on the 12th and apply for that point.

    Thanks Bob.
I was wondering if it would give me a number when applying for the license. I just got off the phone and received my ID number. Was on hold 50 minutes. At least I'm a step closer now.
I'll go on look at purchasing the license and dating it for Feb 12th and then go back and try to get the point. I don't want to wait to long in the event I have an issue with the masses who will start the process from where I am at this point in 10 days!

Well, the ID number provided by the F&G did not work. I simply created a new number when I purchased the license.
I'll wait until tomorrow to apply for ppt.
I want to ensure their system doesn't mess me up with the other non-working number.

I did not realize that you could start date the license ahead of time. Good to know. I went ahead and grabbed mine and submitted my apps.

Is it only Elk & Pronghorn that is currently available for application?
I did not see deer as being a valid option at this time. Last year, it was in May. I assume this is the case again this year.

$160 lic fee will keep out riff-raff like me from the draws.

OTC AZ hunts (w/the nonres lic) may be an option down the road if my other test wells come up dry...

For any state that requires you to purchase a hunting license for the draws you need to take advantage of the easy to draw tags that they offer.

Arizona has some great quail hunting, not to mention the spring hunts for javelina. I leaving Wednesday for my annual javelina hunt down there. While I don't have as far to drive as other on the forum here I have met up with hunters from as far away as Minnesota down there hunting javelina and quail.
If you don't care where you are, you are not lost....

I really need to jump on this, and get some use out of my license every year. I think an OTC Coues/javalina trip is in order.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

I believe that the archery javelina tags are as close to being OTC as you can get. Other than that the regular rifle and HAM season are draw but there are usually leftover tags but depending on the units they can go fast.

The archery javelina season is in January along with the archery coues and quail hunts. It is a fun way to get to know a unit along with chasing some new critters.
