    AZ Help

    Evening guys,

First time looking into AZ and have a few questions that did not jump out to me while on the AZ F&G site.
I know I have to buy a combo hunt/fish license to purchase ppts. But it says I need to call and get an ID number from the F&G office. Another comment elsewhere on the site says it will be created for me when purchasing the license. Which is it, or both?

Also, I hear guys talk about knowing "when" to buy the license so it is valid over 2 years. Does this help with buying ppts or only if hunting late season one year and early the next and nothing to do with ppts?

After I acquire an ID and purchase a hunt/fish license, I can then enter the draw in order to acquire ppts?

Thanks for the insight guys. I know the deadline is coming up in roughly 10 days so I want to get this taken care of soon, but I want to get it right.

I read and understand the point guard. Any other pointers? Can you take the AZ hunter Ed online for additional ppt?

    Thanks guys!

On the customer ID I believe that it is issued when you get your hunting license and it is your SS number. I have been doing it for 26 years now and the license ID # has been different every year.

I believe that you can't play the one license for 2 years in Az. I know that you need a valid one to put in for the draw that is good to the last day of the application period for that draw...so that kills the 2 years on one license. And if I remember right the bonus points application period is the same time as the draw applications is.

On the hunter safety, you can do a online course with Az but you need to do the shooting or final test in Arizona from a approved instructor, or something like that. It has been a number of years since I looked into that.

One thing on the Az hunting license is don't let it just go to waste. They have fantastic quail hunting and if you can swing it the spring javelina hunting is additive.

If I got something wrong here I am sure there are a couple of members that will correct me.
If you don't care where you are, you are not lost....

Create your account and you will be given an ID; print screen the info and save it. Then go back in and buy a license on the 12th of Feb. Apply for the point after you buy the license, on the 12th. Next year apply for a hunt or point on Feb 11th without buying another license.

The last "supplemental" nr bonus point hunter ed class is March 30. It's a one day class in Kingman. After that it will be the first weekend in January 2020.

the site is currently having some problems which should be fixed by tomorrow.

And I want to add that Coues is on my bucket list. I need something to do in January!
I'd love to get together with EF members on a fun trip down there.

I was mistaken. After creating an account today, I see you will get your ID when you buy the license, not before. That was not the case last year when I created an account.

Also usually your ID number is going to be your SS number, unless you don't have one. Then they will issue a different ID number for you.

They've changed the data needed to apply this year. Evidently when you tell them their code is broken, they deny it, then you show them step by step exactly where, they take notes.

I'm still trying to figure this out. It appears being a first timer in AZ, I have to call the G&F dept. in order to get the ID number.
Once I have this, I can purchase my license and then enter the draw on the 12th...?

Bob, what code are you referring to? The PP code?
