I don't know how many will be available for NR's but there might be some extra tags available in WY this year due to some goat interaction with sheep and a herd that managers are trying to reduce in size.

First Time Planning a Mtn Goat Hunt

Just going to throw this out there depending on the amount of time you have. Keep an eye out on the governors tags in each state. A couple years ago it went for less than 10k in Montana. It was a little steep for me but it had me scratching my head and doing the numbers. Seemed like a great buy and for some reason Mt. Goat?s seem to fly under the radar a bit.
    Beautiful animals and amazing hunts.
    Good luck.

Did you PM akavatior? On your guide selection in case you don't know about AK he was very well connected to the Alaska wildlife troopers!

Make sure you have a good rifle caliber and you can shoot it very well. If you don't quite put it where it needs to be, goats can go a long way in a short time. They are not real big but have a will to live like no other. If they go over the top, the pack out can be crazy.

When all the trees have been cut down, when all the animals have been hunted, when all the waters are polluted, when all the air is unsafe to breathe, only then will you discover you cannot eat money.

    What he said !!
They also have a will to screw with you once they realize they're about to die.
I got a goat in AK and even though I hit him in the shoulder/lungs, twice, with my 30-06 he turned and jumped off a cliff before he expired. It was a loooooooong way down !!
