Well, I have had a blast. Passed on many pretty good bucks looking for the one. I had one that would fit the bill run to within 80 yds with a doe this evening. Jumped on my shooting sticks to wait for a shot, and his girlfriend ratted me out. They took off over a hill, and I hustled up a ridge to cut them off. As I eased around the ridge, I saw the doe at 130 yds standing and staring my direction, Damn busted again. I kept my head below the sage, and waited to see the buck. I spied him through the sage, and was ready for him to step out. He steps out and I shoot. He drops just like we all want to see. I was pretty stoked. I hustle to him, and I'm kicked in the balls. Not the same buck, not even close. Obviously nobody's fault but my own. Mistaken identity. Don't know where the dink came from or where the big one went. I just knew it was going to be him stepping out so I didn't bother to make sure while trying to see him through the sage. My partner and I filled our four muley doe tags yesterday and have had a blast. Seen many real good bucks that I passed on. I do thank God (and my wife) for the opportunity to hunt the Cowboy state, and I will again accumulate points in search of a trophy Antelope. I will just have to settle for amazing table fair and some really good memories. Until next time Wyoming. You have been a great host.

Did the same on a unit 10 elk hunt that took 18 points to draw in colorado.

Buggers were 50 yards apart n switched places before I fired.

Congratulations on the great experiences though.

Yep, that stuff happens and there is no reason for it sometimes. The big thing is that you had a great time and brought home some meat.

I did the same thing on a black bear. A large one went into the trees and a smaller one came out, but looking through the scope it was hard to tell.

It beats shooting the one you want then realizing you also shot one that was directly behind it. That happens sometimes as well.

Years down the road you'll realize that you actually did shoot the trophy buck. Good job man!
