    Been three times so far in Alabama and i had a hot bird every morning. Haven?t closed the deal yet. Two of the three times they were just out of range but I watched them strut and gobble for quite a while. It?s been fun but I?m ready to give one lead poisoning!

    Snow sticking around in Northwest WI doesn't have the turkeys going full blown just yet which is nice, opener is 4/18. Last year heard constant gobbling late February early March while calling coyotes, I'm thinking due to mild winter and lack of snow, which seemed to have them starting early. What is usually decent hunting in Mid May was completely silent. Hoping this year will be different, quite optimistic!

    Didn't hear a bird Saturday and Sunday finally heard my first Georgia gobble of the season... when the bird left the roost he never said a peep again. I have no idea were he went when he hit the ground but it wasn't towards me...haha

    I was a little upset when I saw Missouri and Kansas' spring dates, as late as they were.. But then, we got a couple inches of snow yesterday, and it's about 15 degrees right now.

    C'MON SPRING!
    My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

    Nebraska forecast stinks for the youth opening day this Saturday. We just had a decent snow storm and we have a cold and windy forecast- think it will be tough hunting for the little guys. I may use a heater in the turkey blind for the first time this year.

    We got a about 4 inches of snow yesterday morning, it mostly melted throughout the day and in the evening caught a strutter with some other birds in a field. Didn't get a good look at them. Temperatures look to be a roller coaster here for a while yet, mostly staying pretty chilly though. Calling for a chance of snow Thursday and early next week. Heard a couple faint gobbles Sunday morning at sunrise service where it was about 50 degrees but the wind was blowing pretty good. Still a month to go before hitting the woods.

    Well my boys got drawn for the youth hunt! Super excited to try and get them each their first turkey! Only a two day season.... Better have some luck on our side.

    The forecast keeps getting worse for us here in central Nebraska. Accuweather is showing 3-5" of snow for my area with record lows predicted... 9 degrees. I'm actually considering not going out Saturday with my little guy. I have never tried to call birds in when the weather is that cold and snow on the ground. Any of you guys ever had luck when it's that bad?
