    What Was Your First Bow?

So, I took a stroll down memory lane the other day and got to thinking about the first bow I ever owned. I was 11 years old and got a garage sale "4 wheel" Darton... shot it like crazy until the cables fell apart and I bought a brand new Hoyt Super Slam.

What about you guys, what was your first bow? If you've got pics post em up!

I had a few youth compound and recurves that I learned with. The first one I hunted with was a Darton that my dad bought me then when I was about 16 or 17 he bought me a Hoyt ProVantage Hunter that I killed a lot of animals with.

I had a Browning bow that I shot with fingers. I tagged my first big game animal ever with it when I was 13 years old, a big old whitetail buck with 3 1/2" spikes. Don't have the bow anymore, but still have the arrow, and the broadhead, which I look at on occasion while working in my shed.

My first bow was who know what kind? I got it at a Green Stamp Store, that shows you how old I am.

My second was a hand built recurve that I put together in the scouts. Along with making our own cedar arrows to shoot. The first deer and elk that I killed with a bow was with that one.

It is sitting out in the garage somewhere.

An old Bear recurve. Wish I still had it. The bottom limb broke. :-(

My first bow was a Shakespeare fiberglass recurve with a rubber grip and pulled 25 lbs. I shot dangerous game like cottontails and ground squirrels in the fields around the edge of town. That was in the late 60s. My first hunting bow was a Ben Pearson recurve that pulled 50 lbs. I shot cedar arrows that were painted olive green with barred grey feathers and a fixed blade broadhead with bleeders. I have no recollection of who made them but I suspect they were Bear.
