    Does anyone still hunt turkeys?

I spent 5 days at the cabin. I called in one hen. Tom's were only gobbling for about 10 minutes as soon as it started to get light, well before sunrise. I could only hunt until 8:30am due to work schedule.

Ethanol is poison for boats. Maybe would be ok if you were running every day but let em sit for a while and the engine won't start

    Does anyone still hunt turkeys?

Your turkey's are different than the ones we have. If deer were as spooky as the turkeys we have nobody would ever kill one with their bow. My season starts April 10 and I'll be heading to the cabin on the 9th. Dump some coin on some new decoys this year, hopefully that helps.

    New muzzleloader talk

In Illinois, before you can buy ammo or guns, you have to get a FOID (Firearm Owner Identification) that is managed by the Illinois state police. The foid card requirement has been around as long as I can remember and i'm 50. Illinois banned the selling and purchasing of any AR style firearm...

Its an Illinois thing. It must be shipped to an FFL dealer who will then validate my FOID card.

    New muzzleloader talk

i had 6 bass pro or cabelas cards and bought winchester 777 primers, IMR White Hots, powerbelts and a bunch of stuff to clean the rifle. Will pick the supplies up at cabelas on my way into work on Wednesday. Had to deal with a FFL transfer for the muzzleloader I bought online. I didn't...

We can pretty much use anything that starts at .45 caliber. Scopes are fine. Smokeless powder is fine. The gun just can't be loaded through the breech.

    New muzzleloader talk

If I thought I was going to use it more I would have maybe spent more for an Accura. Most years I actually kill a buck with my bow and shotgun so I didn't want to spend alot on something I may only use once in a while. Its kind of a last resort kind of thing. I really like the MR, nice...

    New muzzleloader talk

I bought a Knight Bk-92 inline muzzleloader back in the early nineties. I could never get it to shoot consistently, even cleaning the barrel after every shot. Lost interest since I couldn't get it to group very well. Fast forward to today. Illinois allows landowner tags that aren't filled...

Work Trip to Oklahoma - fishing?

No fishing advice but if you are looking for dinner the bricktown area is really neat. Some decent restaurants like Toby Keith's and Mickey Mantle's. Tapwerks had over 100 taps of beer to choose from but google says its closed. They had a double chocolate stout that I have fond memories of...
